The Science of Epsom Salt
Written by Aunt BrendaThis is absolutely fascinating! I never realized the health benefits of having enough magnesium in your system. (or the detrimental effects of not having enough) Or that putting Epsom Salt in your child's bathwater can help with digestion and acts as a calming agent. Wow!
I found all this while researching why our pepper plants keep turning yellow, with leaves falling off. I found out that they have a magnesium deficiency, so I added 2 Tablespoons of Epsom Salt per gallon to the water I used, and just like magic they perked up and have the most beautiful dark green color now. I wanted to write an article about all the uses of Epsom Salt, and I stumbled upon the Epsom Salt Council. Yes, there's a council. Here's a bit of what I found on their website:

An important part of buying local is making an effort to purchase fresh fruits and vegetables when they are in season in your area. Although today's global marketplace allows us to buy foods grown virtually anywhere in the world all year round, these options are not the most sustainable.
Go Bananas!
Written by Aunt Brenda
Bananas contain three natural sugars - sucrose, fructose and glucose combined with fiber. A banana gives an instant, sustained and substantial boost of energy. Research has proven that just two bananas provide enough energy for a strenuous 90-minute workout. No wonder the banana is the number one fruit with the world's leading athletes!
Butter vs. Margarine - The Showdown
Written by Aunt Brenda
Margarine was originally manufactured to fatten turkeys. When it killed the turkeys, the people who had put all the money into the research wanted a payback so they put their heads together to figure out what to do with this product to get their money back.
