Upside Down Baked French Toast

Upside Down Baked French Toast

Problem: You've had 2 loaves of "gift bread" in your freezer for who knows how long. It was clearly made and delivered with lovely intentions. What's the best way to not only rescue the bread from being banished to the back of the freezer forever, but to turn it into a showcase dish that everyone will love?

Delicious Parmesan Yeast Bread

Parmesan Yeast Bread

This is one of the first yeast breads I made "way back when." I originally found this recipe on the back of a can of evaporated milk. My Mom was a big fan of canned milk, so of course it was in my pantry at all times when I was beginning my Adventures in Kitchen Land. After trying this recipe, I started looking twice at everything in my pantry. I found some of the best dishes that way. I mean, if a company takes the time to print a recipe directly on its product, trying to entice you to buy it again, it MUST be a good dish, right? Well, I would have to say that 9 times out of 10, that has actually been true.

Applesauce Oatmeal Muffins

Applesauce replaces most of the fat in this recipe. These muffins are so moist!
Best heated with a bit of real butter. YUM!

Pecan Pie Muffins

Pecan Pie Muffins

I tend to call these "invisible muffins." They just disappear! They taste exactly like pecan pie! The best part is that these are "hand foods," therefore much easier to eat and transport than pie.

Oatmeal Bread

This is a great bread for toasting and adding jam in the morning.

The oatmeal disappears into the bread, giving a wonderfully moist texture, and added fiber!
