About Herbs
Square Foot Gardening is like playing Tic Tac Toe in your garden!
I recently discovered this gardening method, and am hoping to use it in our next garden. The soil here is mostly sand, and since the water table is so high, any amended nutrients quickly leach out of the soil. I thought this raised-bed method would enable us to have more control over the nutrients available to the vegetables. I'll let you know how it goes, and furnish pictures when available.
The reason I'm telling you about this is because it is a fabulous way to create a "kitchen door" herb and vegetable garden. There's a lot less mess, and when your fresh herbs and veggies are closer to the kitchen, the odds go way up that they'll actually make it into your cooking!

Dear Aunt Brenda,
I have an organic herb garden, but I am confused about which herbs need to be harvested before they bloom. I've heard that the flavor can change after an herb makes flowers. Is this true?
Thanks,
Too Busy To Look This Up Myself.
